Elasticated Surgical Tubular Stockinette is a combination of rib weave stockinette and covered latex rubber. The yarns are a blend of two-thirds cotton and one-third rayon, into these yarns covered latex rubber threads are laid. The product is available in various width sizes in ten metre lengths in a dispenser box. The correct width of appropriate length is then cut from the roll and applied to the patient. Advantages It is simple and easy for medical staff and patients to apply. It can be washed and re-applied allowing pressure and compression to be achieved over a period of time without the risk of the slippage associated with flat bandages. Indications General light support bandaging for treatment of minor soft tissue and joint injuries. Dressing retention uses where the extra compression available is required e.g. under cast padding for spinal jackets and body casts. Presentation 10 metre rolls are available in various width sizes. Each roll is packed in an appropriately sized dispenser box.
